So happy that I finally got a chance to organize the desk area in the kitchen. This is where I started this blog. It’s sort of the “heart” of the house since it is where all mail is sorted, bills are paid, keys are kept, schedules are planned, and where I keep track of everything.
You’ll notice a key rack where all our keys are hanged. My hubby got the key rack from Target. It was his bright idea to get one since I kept on wasting mornings looking for my keys. Switching purses makes is difficult to keep track of where ones keys are.
Notice the bunch of papers hanging on our garage door. Yes, it’s sort of an eye sore, but that’s the point. It’s to make us look at it because it is my daughter’s day care schedule. If she has pirate day and needs to dress up like a pirate…we will know. If it is crazy hat day and she needs to wear a hat to school…she will end up going to school with a hat. It also lists the hot lunch provided by the day care…which I don’t usually buy, but just in case I don’t have time to prepare lunch for her I will know what meal is being served that day.
This is my pride and joy! I got this from the Container Store. It is a file box and houses everything: daughter’s day care papers, daughter’s medical records, bills, owner manuals, my mail, hubby’s mail, etc.
If you open the file box you can see each member of the family has their own folder. Yes, it’s their responsibility to look at it. Notice how thick my hubby’s is…he hasn’t been checking his for a while. Even the dog has her own folder!
I actually used Apple iphone and ipad boxes to organize this drawer! The boxes hold: change, chalk for our chalkboard calendar decal, usb drives, pens, crayons, etc.
This is where all chargers are kept! I still haven’t found a container to hold them, but figured it’s easier for them to be used like this as opposed to organized in little cubbies. After using them we can just wrap rubber band around them and throw them back in the drawer instead of trying to make it fit in a box.
